AI assistants (MCP)

Roni supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so AI assistants can read and update your projects and tasks — for example “What’s due this week in Website Redesign?” or “Create a task for Sam to review the footer on Friday.”

Connect an assistant

1. In Roni, open Integrations and click Copy URL under AI assistants (MCP). The URL is https://app.roni.so/api/mcp.
2. In your assistant, add a custom connector (in Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector) and paste the URL.
3. Sign in to Roni when asked and choose the access level: Read only or Read & write.

Connected assistants are listed on the Integrations page with when they were connected and last used. Click Disconnect to revoke access at any time.

What assistants can do

With Read only access an assistant can list your workspaces, projects, members and statuses, and search and read tasks.

With Read & write access it can also create, update, assign and delete tasks, manage subtasks and comments, and create, update or archive projects.

Assistants always act as you, with your permissions — they can’t see projects you’re not a member of.
